I really like the quote "childhood inf...Hello! I really like the quote "childhood informed everything but predicted nothing." When learning Freud's stages of development, I always thought they were kind of limiting, and I interpreted these stages as predicting a person's interaction and trust with his/her environment. For example, if the child did not successfully pass through each stage, they were more apt to have poor relationships with their parents and romantic partners. I agree that self-awareness is important in relationships and work. I also agree that increased self-awareness can create more choices. I like that psychodynamic psychotherapy has become more of a collaborative relationship. When reading about Freud and some of his work such as Dora, there was much more of a power differential. Lastly, I really want to learn more about transference and counter transference.
